This is the first video of six focused on Identity and Access Management (IAM) using MinIO's built in administration tools. These tools control access to objects on your MinIO server. Access Management includes the granting of permissions to an authenticated application. Identity is the verification of "who" a connecting application is and their right to claim that identity. How do I become a MinIO Certified Professional?

Pass the MinIO Certified Administrator - Practitioner exam. Anyone carrying one of our certifications is a MinIO Certified Professional.

How do I attempt a MinIO Certification exam?

You can register for the exam here. The exam is $300 per attempt. Please also see this video which explains the exam registration process.

Why should I become a MinIO Certified Professional?

A MinIO Certified Professional has proven that they can effectively deploy, manage and maintain the MinIO object store. MinIO certification is the best way to verify that you have the skills to use the MinIO object storage platform

Which version of MinIO is the exam using?

Our exam is currently based on MinIO version 2024-04-06T05:26:02Z.

Do I have to attend training to become certified?

There is no prerequisite for attempting our certification. However, all of the topics in this course are covered in our MinIO Enterprise Administration I: Management, Replication, and Security Essentials (MN116), along with hands-on exercises.

What is the format of the exam?

The exam is a 90 minute exam consisting of 60 multiple choice questions.

How much does certification cost?

The MinIO Certified Administrator - Practitioner exam costs $300 per attempt.

How do I purchase an exam attempt?

Exams may be purchased and scheduled through our delivery partner, Prometric.Please also see this video which explains the exam registration process.

Does my exam attempt expire?

Exam attempts do not expire. However, please adhere to the rescheduling process for exams. If you miss your scheduled exam time, you will need to purchase a new exam attempt.

Are there any discounts available?

Yes, for the first year we are offering a discount of $50 per exam attempt. Be one of the first to be certified!

Do reattempts come with a discounted rate?

No.

What if I need to change or cancel my exam registration?

You may reschedule your exam at any time at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled exam time.

Is the exam refundable?

The exam is refundable if canceled at least 5 days prior to your scheduled delivery date.
There is a $25 fee if canceled less than 5 days prior.
There are no refunds for missed exams or exams that are canceled the day of delivery.

How do I update my registration?

You may update your registration to fix any errors here.You will need your current registration confirmation number and last name used to register.Please note that exam attempts are non-transferable.

When do I receive my exam results?

Exam results will be posted the same day as the exam is completed.
Certification details will be sent to you by MinIO within 3 business days.

How do I verify (and advertise) my certification?

Once you pass the exam, you will receive a certification kit from MinIO that details how you can share your certification on various social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
Certifications can also be verified by contacting certification@minio.io.

Do I have to memorize the documentation?

You do not need to memorize the entire documentation library. However, this is a "closed-book" exam, and the documentation will not be available during the exam. You should be comfortable with all of the topics above, and the more common command flags for the mc command line client.

Do I need to install any special software to attempt the exam?

Yes, you will need to install the Prometric ProProctor tool, which is available for MacOS and Windows.Please also see this video which covers the exam setup and test taking process.

When can I start my scheduled exam?

Exams can be joined up to 30 minutes before the exam start time. You can also check your system requirements at any time before the exam using the Prometric ProProctor tool.
